Who We Are

Our mission is to understand and alleviate unmet needs by providing resources and connection. We envision a thriving community where everyone is supported and valued and their basic needs are met. FCS was incorporated in the State of Washington in 2004, and gained 501(c)(3) status in 2007.

What We Do

FCS accomplishes our mission and vision through 7 programs: * Community Resource Center -services provided onsite include the clothing bank, other bank (hygeine items), transportation assistance, shower and laundry vouchers, utility fund, computer and phone use, community resource navigation support. * Bridge2services - Whatcom County wide mobile outreach that bridges people to the organizations and services they need. * Connect Ferndale - cultivates community growth and connection through civic participation and community building to advance inclusion, honor diversity and encourage participation for everyone in our community. * Ferndale Severe Weather Shelter -a 15 bed shelter that provides individuals and families a safe and warm place to sleep during severe weather from Nov-March. Ferndale Community Garden -garden plots for Ferndale residents to rent and build community through growing * Holiday Giving Store - created to brighten the holidays for children of low income families within the Ferndale School District boundaries. * Volunteer Mobilization Center - provides a reception and referral center for emergent, spontaneous volunteers who respond to disasters within Whatcom County.
