Volunteer: STEM TUTORS = Students' Academic Success!

Support Bellingham Public Schools promise to help each student succeed by volunteering in one of the high schools' after-school tutoring/learning centers. 

The volunteer role:

Tutors work 1:1 or in small group of students with homework, test review and prep.  The centers meet  after-school at all high schools Monday through Thursday 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tutors needed in all subject areas but math and science expertise are in high demand. Bellingham, Squalicum and Sehome High Schools are currently seeking tutors in-person.  

The commitment:

One hour per week can impact student achievement. 

Next Steps: 

Complete the online volunteer application . Upon approval you will receive an email prompting you to contact the volunteer coordinator for training and placement.

Volunteer: Debate Team - Exercise your brain muscles and promote tomorrow's leaders!

Volunteer coaches and judges help students build critical thinking and speaking skills. Debate experience helpful but not required. We are especially interested in volunteers who can give us at least one day a week and can commit to attend an occasional debate tournament.  The Bellingham unified team meets from 4:30-6:30 p.m. TUESDAYS at Bellingham High School, WEDNESDAYS at Sehome High School and THURSDAYS at Squalicum High School from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Contact BUSDT Adviser Astrid Willis at astrid.willis@bellinghamschools.org to learn how you can support this team.
