Volunteer: Love Volunteering? Become a Volunteer Coordinator!The Community Boating Center (CBC) is seeking a passionate individual to serve as Volunteer Coordinator for the 2020 season. The CBC Volunteer Coordinator works with the CBC Operations Manager, and is responsible for the following: Working with staff to develop volunteer roles that further the CBC's mission, support its programs including social outreach Recruiting volunteers for various positions Providing positive experiences to CBC volunteers to ensure their volunteering goals are met Managing the CBC's volunteer systems, social infrastructure and social events Ensuring that the CBC's volunteer needs are met: annual events, tabling opportunities, work parties, daily operations assistance, programs support, etc...The Volunteer Coordinator will initially work approx. 5 - 10 hours per week as they receive training and begin working with volunteers. The long term schedule will be flexible and will be determined to suit the Coordinator's other obligations and personal schedule, as well as the CBC's needs. Our committees work with the board in the following areas: Advancement/Fundraising The Advancement Committee is seeking motivated individuals to assist with approaching sponsors, recruiting partners, researching and writing grants, and planning fun and educational fundraising events for the CBC. Board Development The Board Development Committee is seeking individuals to review and enhance board assessment and management procedures, and to recruit additional board members. Programs The Programs Committee is seeking individuals with experience in the following areas: outdoor education, risk management, safety analysis, program development, and grant writing.Committees meet as dictated by annual events and programs. The CBC was founded in 2006 and began services to the public in 2007. Programs and services are available to the public. Much-appreciated tax-deductible donations, season-pass sales, dry-moorage fees, and rentals of sailboats and human-powered watercraft enable the CBC to provide the safety and skills education that are the core of the organization’s Mission. Volunteers are integrated into all aspects of the organization from maintaining boats, assisting with rentals, teaching educational classes, tabling and serving as board and committee members. The CBC is seeking board members to support and further the CBC's Mission. Board members meet on the third Monday; additional hours and meeting times are variable based on the season and the events in a given year. Board terms are three years, with the option to renew.
