Needs From: The Volunteer Center of Whatcom County

The Haskell Lions Eye Clinic provides FREE eye exams and glasses for low-income homeless, immigrant, and elderly residents.  Established in 2011, it uses all volunteer help and donations to run the only clinic of its kind north of Seattle.

We need someone to organize patient files before their appointments.  We're only open 2 afternoons per month, with this work requiring 2 or 3 hours each session - total 4-6 hours a month.

Here's a great way to help your fellow man and earn karma points while you're at it.  Plus, looks good on a resume for younger folk.  The Haskell Lions Eye Clinic provides FREE eye exams and glasses to low-income homeless, immigrant, and elderly residents, using only volunteers and donations. 

Open only two afternoons a month, so it's a modest commitment.  You'd be helping the clinic manager review and input applications, contacting applicants to make appointments, help schedule our volunteers, and other administrative tasks.  It's about half interacting with people/half paper & computer work.  About 10-12 hours a month total, and flexible: Work from home and/or the clinic.    

No experience needed!  We are a FREE clinic, providing eye exams and glasses to low-income homeless, immigrant, and elderly residents.  Before seeing an eye doctor, our patients get tested on a few machines first, and that's where we need help.  We'll train you to do this.  It's easy work in a friendly atmosphere of males, females, young, and old.  

We provide FREE eye exams to needy residents.  Before seeing a doctor, patients' eyes are tested on a few pieces of vision equipment, saving the doctor's precious time.  Volunteers need no previous experience, and will be trained on the simple testing procedures.
