Needs From: The Volunteer Center of Whatcom County

Volunteer: Junior Achievement Needs You!

Picture a world where young people, no matter their background, know how to budget, save, and invest; a generation of tenacious individuals armed with the confidence, knowledge and capabilities to take control of their financial futures, their careers, and achieve their dreams.

Join JA, school systems, and our partners, and become part of the movement to redefine a generation and place all students on a path to success. We need your enthusiasm, life experience, and a willingness to teach children about how you took chances and shoot for the stars.  Junior Achievement provides the training, curriculum, and a classroom ready to meet you.

Volunteer: Why volunteer with Jr. Achievement of Washington?

Make a difference! Empower students in our local schools by helping them learn valuable lessons that will greatly impact their futures!  When you volunteer for Junior Achievement, you enjoy the satisfaction of educating children in the topics of financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship in grades K-12. Through fun and engaging hands-on school programs, JA inspires students to dream big and reach their potential.  Be a part of this!

Our programs allow volunteers to visit a classroom once a week for 4-6 consecutive weeks, teaching content for 30-45 minutes per visit or you may deliver the lessons in one week for 4-5 consecutive days. We also have several JA in a Day opportunities throughout the school year, where programs are delivered in one day.

If providing financial education to students sounds like the perfect fit for you, please contact Regional Director, Carmen Marttila Email: carmenm@jawashington.org
