DVSAS AmeriCorps VISTA

The AmeriCorps VISTA member will build organizational capacity by strengthening DVSAS’s volunteer, outreach, and fundraising systems. The member will support the development of outreach plans, identify community engagement opportunities, and improve volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training processes. They will assist with improving donor and auction data systems, developing fundraising communications, and supporting events that generate resources for survivor services. The member will create and refine tools, processes, and documentation that allow DVSAS staff and volunteers to sustain these efforts long-term. Through this work, the member will help expand community partnerships, increase organizational efficiency, and strengthen DVSAS’s ability to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and exploitation.

Orcas Community Resource Center AmeriCorps VISTA

The OCRC AmeriCorps VISTA will build organizational capacity by developing sustainable systems, tools, and resources that strengthen long-term program effectiveness. Members will create and document volunteer recruitment, engagement, and recognition systems; develop community partnership and stakeholder engagement procedures; standardize evaluation and data tracking tools; and create outreach materials, communication strategies, and resource guides for staff use. Members will also develop grant tracking systems, implementation guides, training materials, and standard operating procedures that support consistent program delivery and future growth. These activities will increase organizational efficiency, improve access to services for underserved populations, strengthen community partnerships, and equip staff and volunteers with resources that can be sustained beyond the AmeriCorps service term.

Kulshan Community Land Trust AmeriCorps VISTA

The Homeownership Education & Stewardship AmeriCorps VISTA will build Kulshan Community Land Trust's organizational capacity by developing sustainable education, outreach, and data management systems. The VISTA will create and improve online educational resources, develop outreach materials, communication templates, and partnership tools, and design impact metrics, Salesforce dashboards, survey tools, and reporting processes for staff use. The member will document systems and procedures that strengthen fundraising, strategic planning, and homeownership education, enabling staff to more effectively support first-time homebuyers and homeowners long after the VISTA service year has ended.

Readiness to Learn AmeriCorps VISTA

The AmeriCorps VISTA member will strengthen Readiness to Learn's organizational capacity by developing sustainable technology management systems, documentation, and standardized processes. The member will assess current technology and information management practices, consult with staff to identify organizational needs, and create tools such as technology inventories, filing frameworks, troubleshooting guides, training resources, and implementation documentation. The VISTA will pilot these resources with staff, collect feedback, and refine materials to support long-term adoption. By developing sustainable systems and documentation, the member will improve organizational efficiency, strengthen volunteer-supported technology coordination, and ensure staff have the resources needed to maintain technology infrastructure beyond the VISTA term.

WDRC Development & Outreach VISTA

Our services focus on both conflict prevention and conflict intervention and include mediation, training, facilitation, coaching, supervised visitation, and community education for youth, adults, families, organizations, and businesses throughout Whatcom County.

The goal of this VISTA project is to increase low income clients’ access to conflict prevention and intervention services by building and promoting awareness of the organization, helping to secure vital financial resources, and ensuring the efficiency and efficacy of systems used to do so. In building on the work of the previous VISTA position, this role will deepen our outreach to underserved communities in rural areas, non-English speakers, and those who belong to specific demographic or cultural groups. Similarly the Development and Outreach VISTA will help to grow funding for projects and programs that specifically benefit low income individuals and help to increase the accessibility of our programs.

Skookum Kids Development Coordinator VISTA

The overwhelming majority of children and families impacted by the foster care system experience poverty. 

Skookum Kids contributes to these children and families having support like access to safe housing, medical attention, nutritious meals, and recreational opportunities, which will help them break out of the cycle of poverty. Every program within Skookum Kids relies heavily on compassionate, competent, and committed volunteers, foster parents, and donors. The AmeriCorps VISTA will build capacity by improving Skookum Kids’ volunteer and foster parent recruitment and retention efforts, cultivating business and individual donors, seeking event donations, and sharing stories of impact.
