Who We Are

Our mission is to support our neighbors experiencing homelessness while they are on their road to home.

Road2Home was established in November 2019 by three Bellingham residents who saw gaps in services and shelter options for people experiencing homelessness. There was a clear need for more sheltering options for the growing homeless population who were 55+ or homeless due to physical health or disability. There was also a need for more case managers in our community to relieve the strain on existing case managers with unreasonable caseloads.

Gardenview Village opened in October 2021 to primarily serve individuals and couples experiencing homelessness who are 55+ and/or medically fragile. Our on-site case managers work with clients to help them obtain housing, employment, healthcare, and other services and get on a path to permanent housing.

Our Community Ally Program, which began in August 2020, pairs trained volunteers with people experiencing homelessness to provide companionship, connect clients with resources, serve as a liaison with their case manager, and help them achieve their goals. The Gardenview Ally Program, a sister program, pairs volunteers with guests of Gardenview Village.

Today, Road2Home provides 35-units of enhanced shelter (tiny homes), and case management supported by volunteer allies. Road2Home has quickly grown in order to meet the needs of our community and further our mission of supporting our homeless neighbors while they are on their road to home. Our work is only possible thanks to the incredible support of our community, including our volunteers, donors, and partners.
