Teams of up to six explore 35+ miles of local waterways, roads and trails through Bellingham. The relay includes paddling, road biking, trail running, mountain biking, greenway running and a final team trek to the finish line.
We’re seeking volunteers to assist with transition zone setup and breakdown, support athletes and the timing team at exchange locations, and help provide directions to participants along the course. Positions are available at Fairhaven, Lake Padden, Galbraith Mountain, Bloedel Donovan Park and Waypoint Park, as well as at various locations along the course.
Shifts are generally 2 to 3 hours depending on your assignment and location, making this a great way for family and friends to get involved even if they are not participating in the event. The race begins at noon on Saturday, August 29. Some shifts will take place in the morning to help with setup, but most assignments are in the afternoon. You will be contacted in early August with your specific shift details and location. Please note that positions may be reassigned on the day of the event as needed, within the time frame of your scheduled shift.
For those interested in on-water support, you must be confident and experienced on the water and provide your own watercraft.
