Organization Overview
The mission of Road2Home is to address housing instability by building community, fostering hope, and creating circumstances for individuals to thrive. Our mission is to support our neighbors experiencing homelessness while they are on their "road to home”. Our vision is a community where everyone has access to safe shelter and the social support they need to obtain stable housing. Road2Home is actively recruiting for a Board President who believes in our mission and wants to volunteer with an organization doing first-hand work with our unsheltered community members in Bellingham and Whatcom County.
Position Summary
The Board President is responsible for facilitating the effective action of the board in governing and supporting the organization to fulfill Road2Homes’ mission, strategic planning and fundraising. The President operates collaboratively with the Executive Director, supporting the Executive Director and the organization in their capacity to run Road2Homes’ operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Set the agenda for and lead board meetings
• Facilitate the effective action of the board in governing and supporting the organization
• Appoint the chairs of all standing and ad hoc committees
- Support the Executive Director and the organization in running Road2Home's operations
Qualifications
• Compassionate and motivated individual who wants to actively serve the organization and help further its mission
• Effective communicator able to work collaboratively with the board of directors
• Prior board leadership experience preferred
Timeline
This person would join the Road2Home Board of Directors immediately and assume the President role in January 2027.
