Lydia Place is in the process of developing a new volunteer program and we'd like your feedback! If you have ever wanted to volunteer and work directly with the incredible families we serve, we'd love to hear what you think of a new opportunity that's being developed.
Social isolation and a lack of natural supports are some of the biggest challenges for families experiencing and recovering from homelessness. Things like a ride to the grocery store, help with household chores, or just having someone to talk to can feel out of reach. We're dreaming up a program that matches community members with Lydia Place families (both English and Spanish speaking) to provide connection and support outside of our services. This new program would pair community volunteers, interested in forming a friendship, with parents in our program, who may be isolated or looking for more support.
We'd like to talk to community members who may be interested in a program like this - so we can gather feedback and refine. If you are interested please fill out this short interest form and staff member will confirm your participation: Community Volunteer Focus Group Interest Form – Fill out form
