Habitat Whatcom has a dedicated Outdoor Center for our patio furniture, gardening supplies, lawn care devices, and sports equipment. With all of the donations we get in and how much merchandise in a day, it can be difficult to keep all areas clear of clutter and growth! Our Outdoor Center is in serious need of someone who can upkeep the organization and safety of the area.
Assignments include:
- Maintaining clear pathways to all merchandise
- Proposing organizational ideas and plans to management and implementing it after approvals
- Landscaping to make the area more approachable (pulling weeds, picking up
- litter, sweeping, promoting repairs by landlord)
- Analyzing all items to ensure they have proper pricing
- Assisting customers with questions about merchandise
- Creating the standard of organization and safety through proper product display
- Training new, capable volunteers to handle the department while you are away
- Moving large items with a team member
- Identifying what kind of signage, labels, or change in storage will promote the area’s organization
